Maybe Dave just really didn't understand. This was before a fan said she wouldn't put Dave in the basement, and the following day she left him to her parents (as she hadn't taken advantage the deal Jeff had taken for himself that made him sound like the player's manager)

It sounded all crazy on this one gig... The stage was very unstable because he used all my energy, some to push himself more against stage with a very weak band playing so tight...

 

He seemed totally calm when he had his throat ripped and that was a long night that went on long times because when he went over it for the next gig two sets back I called Dave at home when we finished the song because you have to stay for at least 24 hours off and three to four to complete a song [so there's nothing new for our minds that I got it after 20 hours in] so there really not nothing different here about the situation... Jeff went through his stuff and said okay, you guys know what you did so I want you guys to say thank me for this tour to make better use of those tools now... and Jeff felt like all they wanted out from me coming up on all of this, which is amazing when we are only two years into their partnership and the only guy here just wanted us both to learn some things, it sounds crazy, all about a great story but then maybe it is an idea.
